Six-Monthly Pump Station Maintenance in a Restricted Underground Car Park

The Challenge

As part of a planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programme, Baymore attended a residential development to carry out a scheduled six-monthly clean of a foul water pumping station.
The pumping station is located within an underground car park immediately adjacent to a busy main road. Due to the restricted height and limited access, conventional vacuum tankers are unable to reach the site without causing significant disruption or requiring alternative arrangements.
This made the location an ideal application for Baymore’s compact tanker unit.

Our Solution

Using our purpose-built compact tanker, we were able to access the underground car park safely and position directly beside the pumping station access hatch.
Once on site we carried out a full scheduled maintenance clean, including:

This made the location an ideal application for Baymore’s compact tanker unit.

  • Removal of accumulated sewage sludge, silt and debris.
  • Thorough cleaning of the wet well.
  • Inspection of the pumping station chamber and associated pipework.
  • Visual checks of valves, guide rails and float controls.
  • Leaving the chamber clean and ready for continued operation.
By positioning immediately above the pumping station, hose runs were kept to a minimum, improving efficiency while reducing disruption to residents and other users of the car park.

The Result

The pumping station was successfully cleaned and returned to normal operation as part of its routine preventative maintenance schedule.
Regular servicing helps minimise the risk of pump blockages, emergency call-outs and costly failures while extending the lifespan of the pumping equipment.
This project demonstrates one of the biggest advantages of our compact tanker service. Rather than replacing large vacuum tankers, our unit is designed to access locations they simply cannot, including:
  • Underground car parks
  • Tight residential developments
  • Restricted commercial sites
  • Narrow access roads
  • Areas where disruption must be kept to a minimum
By positioning immediately above the pumping station, hose runs were kept to a minimum, improving efficiency while reducing disruption to residents and other users of the car park.

Why Choose Baymore?

Our compact tanker has been specifically introduced to bridge the gap between traditional drainage contractors and large vacuum tanker operators.
For property managers, facilities managers and commercial clients, this means access to professional tanker services in locations that would otherwise be difficult or impossible to reach.
Whether it’s planned preventative maintenance, pump station cleaning, flood response, welfare unit servicing or sewage waste removal, Baymore delivers a practical solution where access is the biggest challenge.
